This is a pivotal time to be taking up the leadership of the institute's Asia Programme, with major political, economic and social challenges to the region's future and prosperity. The programme's activities cover Afghanistan, China, India, Pakistan and Southeast Asia. We are seeking an inspirational leader to develop and build on its existing reputation and expertise.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of policy-relevant research, fundraising, management and leadership. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to command attention and respect from stakeholders is also essential. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and develop a team of four staff and additional Associate Fellows.

Applicants must have a masters’ degree in a relevant subject with substantial experience of working within research and management programmes. A comprehensive understanding and interest in Asia is essential with a specific focus on China/East Asia. The Programme is of medium size within the institute with scope for growth.
